Easter Eggs are very common in Fortnite. The developers of the game are seemingly fond of leaving some mysteries within the map and players are lucky enough to discover them. These Easter eggs are manifested in many forms. They can be tributes to certain pop culture icons, a nod to past Epic game titles, a tribute to past Fortnite seasons, and many more. Surprisingly, some of these Easter eggs will play a huge role in the game and have a huge impact in the on-going storyline. This is why most players are very eager to discover them during their mission. Fortnite Chapter 2 brought us to a new map after the big event that occurred in the previous chapter which makes the new seasons absolutely worth exploring. Today, we’re giving out some Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Easter Eggs that you definitely need to see before they last.
MEMORIES OF THE PAST
Located at the southeastern part of the map (between the mountain ranges of Misty Meadows and Retail Row) is a small island called Camp Cod. This island is probably built to bring nostalgia. If you have been playing Fortnite Battle Royale since Chapter One, then this place will bring so many great memories. Camp Cod is a small isolated island that comes with few buildings and structures. Most of which are filled with junk like dilapidated cars, worn-out tires, and many other garbages. What really makes the place special are some notable items from those previous seasons. Entering the first structure, for instance, you’ll find the welcome signboard from the Lonely Lodge from the first chapter of Fortnite
Just a few steps from it is an abandoned fountain that became extremely significant during the Spray and Pray mission from previous Fortnite seasons. If you head over the house on top of the hill, you’ll be greeted by the Lion statue from Worldcup Stadium and the Bear from Lonely Lodge. You can also find some solar panels from Frosty Flights. On another building, you’ll spot notable items from Sunny Steps and as well as the famous clock face from the first version of Tilted Towers. What a nostalgia indeed.
FOOD FIGHT CONTINUES
One of the most bizarre campaigns in Fortnite is the endless rivalry between two giant Food chains in Fortnite world, the Durr Burger and Pizza Pit. They have been staples in this virtual universe and there was even a campaign entitled “Food Fight” where teams were assigned to defend each other restaurants while attacking enemies on the other side. When the first chapter concludes in a big explosion, the Durr Burger and the Pizza Pit mascots where both swallowed by the black hole. Well, it turns out, the two found themselves in the Weeping Woods. Just roam around and explore the woods and you’ll find the two famous mascot heads facing each other.
Interestingly, the place is called “Greasy Graves” which pays tribute to the Greasy Grove where the Durr Burger Restaurant can be found. Players can also spot a Pizza Pit truck near the Salty Springs. We have no idea if the rivalry between the two food chains is still on but this is an interesting nod to Fortnite staples.
THE HIDDEN BUNKERS
Much like the previous chapter, season 2 of Chapter 2 comes with mysterious bunkers. These are some of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Easter Eggs that remains a mystery. The hidden bunkers in Chapter 1 became a massive point of discussion amongst Fortnite fanatics especially the one found in the Wailing Woods. This season will unveil not just one but three secret bunkers that can be found in three secret and almost surprising locations in the new Battle Royale Map. Currently, the purpose of these hatches or bunkers is unclear and all of them are not accessible as well.
If you want to discover them, here’s a quick guide. Somewhere in the northwest of Craggy Cliffs (E1 coordinates), you’ll find a hut surrounded by large rocks and wooden pallets. Break your way through and you’ll see the bunker hiding underneath. The second one can be found behind the Retail Row mountains (H6 coordinates). It is hiding under the bushes and between two trees. The third one can be found under the sea. Head over to B6 coordinate (between Holly Hedges and Slurpy Swamp). You’ll find a stone circle at the edge of the map. Swim towards the slightly shallow portion of the water and you’ll get a peek of the underwater bunker. Again, their purpose remains unknown and still a mystery.
FERRIS BUELLER’S SPORTS CAR AND LITTLE MERMAID REFERENCES
If you are an avid Fortnite fan, then you should know that the game developers are fond of making pop culture references from time to time. A few of the obvious Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Easter Eggs include the famous red sports car from the iconic 80s movie, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. In the movie, Ferris Bueller accidentally crashed the expensive Ferrari. Interestingly, Fortnite remained extremely faithful to their virtual counterpart. Located on the southwest of Sweaty Sands, is the very close replica of the Glass House which is named here as “Fancy View”. Those who managed to accessed the early phase of Chapter 2 might have seen the sports car sitting quietly on the glasshouse. After a few updates, the car can be found off the shore as it crashed out of the window. Now, the car can be seen lifted by the truck.
If you are a Disney fanatic, you might as well recognize this rocky crag from the Littler Mermaid. If you visit the shore near the Holly Hedges (A5 Coordinates), you’ll find this iconic rock formation. It is even complemented with starfishes and shells to match well with the Little Mermaid theme. Nothing is really special though except the loot chest sitting on the tip of the crag.
Although it is not clearly mentioned but it seems like Fortnite paid tribute to Lost, one of the iconic tv series in the mid-2000s. Before heading to the Shark (one of the boss locations in Chapter 2 Season 2), you’ll pass through some small islands. Some of these include Coral Cove and the Crash Site. The Crash site is a small island where a plane crash can be seen. Much like Lost’s Oceanic Flight 815, the plane here broke into three parts, the cockpit, the middle section, and the tail. If you are a big fan of Lost, this is definitely one of the sweetest Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Easter Eggs you’ll find.
THE CEMETERY AND HOMER’S DONUTS
The Slurpy Swamps is one of the eerie locations in the new Fortnite map yet it is also one of the ideal landing spots for many reasons (Check Top 5 Best Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2). The area features a huge factory spilling slurp juice in the swamp (hence the title). Interestingly, if you sit in the water, you will earn shield points without even consuming potions. Another eerie finding in the area is a small yet creepy cabin somewhere in the swamp. The cabin features a small cemetery but when you go inside the structure, you’ll find a testing facility that uses a slurp juice tank. It is not clear but it seems that the people behind the Slurp Co are testing their product on humans. Slurpy, a character from Season 1 was born here and is probably one of the successful products of this creepy facility.
Kevin is back! The Cube which plays a huge role in Chapter 1 is back but in a different form. The new map will introduce us to the Kevolution Energy factory. It is a power plant company based around the cube’s energy which can be found in the Steamy Stacks. Inside the factory is a huge purple gooey pool. Another interesting Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Easter Eggs that can be found in this location is the reference to The Simpsons. If you enter one of its control rooms, you’ll find an area with purple donuts similar to the ones in The Simpsons.
THE MYSTERIOUS REDACTED DOOR
One of the most interesting Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Easter Eggs is the mysterious door found near the Retail Row. If you follow the south part of the road, you’ll end up in this mysterious structure called the Redacted door. Most Fortnite Battle Royale gamers may not be aware but the Redacted Door is very similar to the bunker door of Fortnite Save The World. The landmark doesn’t offer many loots but it is confirmed to have a major part of the storyline. In fact, in the Chaos Rising Loading screen (Week 9 Update of Chapter 2 Season 1), this is one of the landmarks that is being monitored by Chaos Agent. Whatever the purpose is, we still don’t know. Are we expecting to see some Save the World crossover soon?
HAYMAN AND PIPEMAN
Fortnite comes with some interesting landmark and they are also mysterious too. If you head over to Frenzy Farm, you’ll see a giant statue made out of hays (hence the name Hayman). It is not clear if this landmark will play something big in the feature similar to rock statues of the previous chapter. So far, it doesn’t offer many changes despite the recent updates but still worth investigating. Also in Frenzy Farm, you’ll find a race track for mowers! Yes, you might want to check that out.
If there is really something mysterious, the Pipe Man is probably one of the interesting Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Easter Eggs that is worth exploring. The Pipe Man that is located near the mountain range of Misty Meadows is mysteriously moving. On early updates, the pipeman can be seen sitting and staring in a certain direction. In the next update, you’ll find it standing and seemingly heading towards a new location. On the latest update, the Pipe Man can now be seen sitting on the edge of a mountain while holding a golden wrench. You can also spot some mysterious pipe structures just a few blocks from the Pipe man’s current location.
THE CALENDAR IN THE SHARK
It is not clear if there is really something about it but if you visit the Shark, you’ll notice a couple of cells with a hand-drawn calendar on it. The calendar is seemingly referring to March based on the dates. Anyway, there are some dates being noted here. The prisoner in this cell has a birthday on the 9th, ate a pizza on the 24th, and escaped his cell on the 31st. You can see a broken prison too. Could this be a new character in the upcoming season? Whoever the prisoner is, he or she might have a huge role in the story.
MIDAS’ MISSING GOLDEN CHAIR
Although this is not really huge but definitely worth exploring. If you happened to visit the meeting room in Midas’ Agency (also shown in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 trailer), you will notice that his Golden chair is missing. In some of the early updates, the Golden chair can be seen on a kayak outside the agency. The kayak was eventually found hiding on a bush near the same spot. Interestingly, the Golden chair can now be found in one of the houses in Salty Springs. Visit the blue two-story house in Salty Spring and you can spot the Golden Chair that seemingly fell off from the upper floor.
GNOMES VS TEDDY BEARS
Some of the interesting secret challenges in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 are the ones involving this mysterious gnomes and teddy bears. They can be seen almost everywhere but most dominantly in the Weeping Woods. Here, you’ll find a house that hides a secret basement. In the basement, you’ll see the chaotic riot between the Gnomes and the Teddy Bears. In some notable occasions, the gnomes can be seen being kidnapped by the bears. Week by week, there is an update but they are not visible on Daily or weekly challenges. You just have to find it yourself. There was the “For The Gnomes” challenge followed by “For the Bears”. Currently, you can see the epic clash somewhere in the Weeping Woods and you can disarm both parties to stop the war. Whether the war is over or not, we have to find out soon.
Fortnite is updating the map on a weekly basis and there are so many mysteries to explore. If you haven’t played Fortnite yet, you better start now. We have prepared a Fortnite Ultimate Beginner’s Guide for you to maximize your chances of winning and surviving. Have fun!
