From the makers behind some colorful block puzzles like Block Puzzle Jewel, Pushdom and Brickdom comes another equally engaging puzzle! Hua Weiwei never failed to provide us some of the most enjoying puzzles and Dropdom is definitely one of the most interesting additions to their list. Dropdom is not your typical block puzzle. This is not a drag and drop challenge nor a tangram but more of a sliding puzzle. The main objective of this game is to get the highest score possible by clearing as many blocks as you can. To do so, you must strategically form full straight lines on the board by moving and sliding the blocks and let them drop on the lower layer, hence the title Dropdom. If you are up for a challenge, feel free to explore Dropdom and see how far you can go.
The mechanics for Dropdom is very similar to all sliding puzzles out there. It comes with a very simple set of mechanics. Despite the apparent simplicity, the game comes with tricky and challenging gameplay. Like what is mentioned above, the main objective for Dropdom is to get the highest score possible. To do so, you must move and slide the blocks on the board. Blocks will come in various sizes and lengths and to clear them off, you must form a full straight line. Allow the blocks to drop on the lower pile next to it and if you managed to form a straight line, the blocks will be cleared off and that’s where you’ll get a score.
What really makes the game more challenging is the fact that every move you make, a new layer of blocks will be added on the board. The board is only 10 blocks high and if the block touches the uppermost portion of the grid, the game will come to a quick end and you have no other option but to start the game back from the very beginning. Unlike your typical block puzzle games, there is no way to revive the puzzle when you lost so make sure to visualize the puzzle carefully before making any moves and try to establish the most effective strategy to keep you in the game.
Addictive Sliding Puzzle
Simple, fun, and surprisingly addictive! I guess this is how you can perfectly describe Dropdom. Honestly, it is a very simple game but you will be surprised how challenging it becomes as you progress. Here’s how it works. As soon as you start the game, it prompts you right away to the puzzle. Since the game doesn’t offer any additional campaigns to explore. It takes you to a standard 8×10 grid screen. Initially, you’ll get two layers of blocks. Just swipe or slide the blocks on either side to start playing. Take note that you cannot move the blocks upward and there is also no way to undo your actions so better think before you make any moves.
Interestingly, the game may not feature any powerups to maximize your winnings, you can always take advantage of the Rainbow-colored blocks. These blocks allow you to destroy all the nearby tiles. Simply create a line along with these special blocks to activate their effect. The game will also occasionally give hints. As far as the scoring system is concerned, the game records your personal best score which actually provides Dropdom a decent replay value as it encourages players to play more to beat their own progress.
Another noteworthy feature of Dropdom is the stunning graphics. Generally, this game is an absolute visual delight. If you have seen Hua Weiwei Block Puzzle Jewel, you will find some notable similarities. Dropdom features a stunning Jungle-inspired theme. The borders are adorned with luscious green leaves and the puzzle pieces are colorful sparkling gems. Above all, the game is also accompanied by a piece of soothing music. The chirping birds, cascading river and everything about Jungle can be heard while playing Dropdom. This wonderful set the mood and make the game even more enjoyable.
From time to time, the game will offer you to revive the game in exchange for watching reward videos. This will eliminate a certain number of layers from the board to keep you going. Interestingly, the game also comes with a leaderboard system that you can access via Google Play Center. Simply grant this game access to your Google Play Account and compete with other players online through interactive score charts which display all the top players (all time, weekly, and daily).
If you are looking for a simple game that you can confidently add on your mobile and something you can play during pastime, Dropdom is surely a great fit. It is simple yet fun, and surprisingly addictive and challenging. Appearance-wise, Dropdom is an absolute visual treat with stunning graphics and well-fitting music for the player to enjoy. Above all, the game can be played wonderfully even without an Internet connection. Dropdom is also light enough that it won’t hurt much of your Phone storage. Currently, the game is available for both Android and iOS devices and you can download this addictive sliding puzzle for free. Cheers!
