Tower Color is a game published by Homa Games. It is a simple yet fun and surprisingly addictive arcade game that will take you to a series of challenging levels with varying range of difficulties. The main objective in this game is to destroy the tower by shooting the block of the same color. It’s a game that reminds you of both classic Breakout and Kwalee’s Hoop Smash. Of course, Tower Color is done in a very unique and creative approach. Adorned with colorful details and interesting gameplay, you can definitely include this game on top of your game list.
The mechanics are generally simple and easily manageable. As soon as the game begins, you will be prompted right away to the first level. It basically features a cylindrical tower built with colorful blocks. The goal is to destroy the tower and reach the 100 percent of the required amount of blocks in order to progress to the next level. Here’s how it works. Once the level begins, simply tap your desired block to start shooting. Take note that only the block of the same color will collapse after shooting. If the colors are not identical, you will only end up losing a move.
If you hit a block of a particular color, all the blocks of the same color adjacent to it will be destroyed. Therefore, the bigger the amount of blocks you destroy, the more unstable the tower will become. An unstable tower will often lead to bigger and faster destruction which makes it easy for you to reach your target and progress to the next level.
Tower Color is presented in a very engaging 3D environment. Although the stage is quite repetitive, the colors will dramatically change every level similar to games like Hoop Smash and Helix Jump. The game is adorned with colorful graphics in which the rotating tower is located on a small platform in the middle of the sea. The music however is quite missing for Tower Color which could have made the game even more engaging. However, just like addictive games like the ones from Voodoo or Ketchapp, this game is still effective even without music.
It might sound easy at first and making the tower collapse in early levels are absolutely manageable but things will become tricky and challenging as you progress. Please be mindful that you only have limited amount of moves per level. If you lose all the moves and you still have the tower standing or you haven’t reach the required amount, the game will come to a quick end. This will give you no other option but to start the same level until you manage to make it through. The tower will become more complicated as you progress which will definitely put your skills and knowledge on a great test.
Missing Scoreboard And Upgrades
Tower Color is undeniably addictive and fun. It takes you to more than 100 amazing levels but the game has notable downsides which I hope the developers will consider to apply soon. The game has no scoreboard or leaderboard system. It could have been more motivating if it allows you to either break your personal record or compete against a score chart that displays the top scores of different players. An upgrade or a customization could be an interesting addition to the game as well.
Tower Color is a simple yet super addictive game despite of the repetitive gameplay. It’s colorful and somehow relaxing to play with. It may not have an excellent replay value and has notable downsides but the game in general has a very huge potential and absolutely worth playing. Good luck and have fun!
