The Gameplay

As mentioned above and as what the title suggests, 1010 Block Puzzle King is a game copied from the original 1010 Block puzzle but still works like a gem. Much like any block puzzle games, the player here is encouraged to get the highest score possible. To do so, you must strategically drag and drop the puzzle pieces on the board and create as many full straight lines possible.

As soon as the game starts, it prompts you first to the main page where you can select any of the four available campaigns including the Classic, Border, Limit, and Faster. After selecting your preferred mode, it prompts you right away to the standard 10×10 grid screen. The game comes with a very simple and user-friendly interface. Located below the grid are the three randomly generated puzzle pieces. Simply drag and drop these pieces on the board and try to assemble them strategically and form full straight lines either vertically or horizontally to get a score. The more lines you clear in one move, the better score you will get.

Classic Block Puzzle

1010 Block Puzzle King comes with different campaigns which makes it unique and distinctive above the rest. However, despite of new campaigns, nothing can be more entertaining than the classic block puzzle which you can experience by playing the Classic Campaign. The mechanics for this particular campaign are generally simple and easily manageable. It prompts you to a 10×10 Board with randomly generated puzzle pieces that only arrive in batch. You need to place all the previous puzzle pieces on the board in order to get a new batch.

The puzzle pieces will vary in terms of shapes and sizes with the biggest size that occupies 3×3 Block and the smallest that occupies a single grid. If there is one thing you must avoid in this game at all costs, it is to run out of space on the board. If the board run out of space or if you can no longer fit any puzzle piece, the game will come to a quick end. Luckily, the game will still offer you to revive the game in exchange of watching a reward video. This will eliminate a huge pile of blocks on the board to keep you going. Otherwise, if you chose not to watch the video, you have to start the game back from the very beginning.

Explore Unique Campaigns

Aside from the classic campaign, 1010 Block Puzzle King also comes with three other equally engaging modes to choose from. One of which is the very unique Border Mode. In this game, instead of creating a full straight line, you are now encouraged to create a border or a full square. It also prompts you to a unique 10×10 board which adds more challenges to this campaign. Much like the classic mode, the game provides you with randomly generated puzzle pieces that you must strategically arrange on the board. Your goal is to create as many squares as possible. You must also prevent the board to run out of space, otherwise, the game is over.

Limit Mode comes with a bigger challenge. The game will only run for 60 seconds and you should make the most out of it. Try to clear as many lines as possible within the given time limit. Faster, on the other hand, is even trickier. The game works the same way with Limit mode but in a more challenging manner. In this campaign, the player is only given with 15 seconds to create a line. Every time you created a line within the time frame, the 15 second time meter will reset which gives you another 15 seconds to play the game. The game runs as long as you can create lines every 15 seconds.

The Verdict

1010 Block Puzzle King may not be entirely original but the game managed to deliver some unique elements and engaging campaigns which makes it distinctive above the rest. The game also comes with its own leaderboard system which displays all the top players from different campaigns. Appearance-wise, 1010 Block Puzzle King comes with a simple visual treat. You can also change the theme from day mode to night mode and vice versa. Above all, the game is wonderfully optimize for mobile and still works like a gem even without an Internet connection.
