Playrix’s Gardenscapes remains to be one of the most engaging tile matching casual simulation games on the mobile market. This is not a bold claim at all considering that the game is being played by more than 7.5 million active users on a daily basis. It is also not surprising if many clones will come up adapting the same concept. Lily’s Garden is probably one of the best successor from this game. It captures the same concept but delivered in a very unique approach. The objective is to restore the garden that is inherited by Lily from her late Aunt. It also features a match 2 puzzle.
In Gardenscapes, we were introduced to Austin the Butler who helped you restoring the garden that is inherited by you. In Lily’s Garden, the game features a much more compelling story. It welcomes you with a cinematic introduction. Lily’s life was somehow miserable and everything in her life is considerably failure from her work to her love life. Until one day, a lawyer approached her to inform Lily that her Aunt Mary passed away but left her a piece of land. After arriving on the said land, Lily was welcomed by an almost-forgotten and abandoned garden. To add more display, the contract states that she can only claim th land if she managed to restore the garden back to its former glory withing 30 days.
The mechanics of the game are very simple and easily manageable. Lily’s Garden will take you to a series of challenging levels with varying range of difficulties. If you have played Gardenscapes, then you should know the drill. The garden will be restored step by step. Each action requires certain amount of stars. Creating a pathway for example requires One Star. Take note that you cannot randomly fix an item or an area in the garden. Everything will be listed on your clipboard.
In order to earn a star, you need to play the tile matching puzzle. Unlike Gardenscape which features a classic Match 3 puzzle, Lily’s Garden features a Match 2 tile matching puzzle. You will be prompted into a dynamically-changing grid filled with colorful tiles. Simply tap a tile to match 2 or more identical tiles and eliminate them. You will have different objectives in the game. Some level requires you to eliminate certain amount of specific colored tile while others will require you to eliminate daffodils or bring seeds down the grid.
Bring Back The Garden to Its Former Glory
The best part of Lily’s Garden is to the customization part. It is very rewarding to see how the garden improves from being in a nightmarish condition back to its former glory. Interestingly, the improvement is in a slow paced and therefore, the 30 days period given to Lily will not really take 30 days but even longer. In order to clear the day, you must accomplish all tasks 100%. Each day is composed of more or less 15-20 tasks. Once you have completed a day, you will receive a bonus gift.
It is also interesting to note that Lily’s Garden also features a live system. This live system is very similar to Gardenscapes where you lose a life when you failed to clear a level. Take note that you only have limited moves for each puzzle and if you ran out of it, you must play the same level until you managed to make it through but you will lose a life for each failure. You need to wait for awhile before the life meter is refilled.
One of the greatest feature of Lily’s Garden is the visually striking graphics. The game will greet you with colorful and stunning details. I personally think that the garden here is more polished than Gardenscape. The details are superb and very intricate which makes this game even more engaging. Not to mention the compelling plot. There’s even a romantic story between Lily and his neighbor Luis. Many drama will arrive soon and that’s something to look forward to.
Lily’s Garden may be considered as clone to Gardenscapes but the game is special on its own. It is very entertaining , has remarkable longevity and features impressive graphics. The rate of difficulty for the puzzles are also drastically increasing as you progress which makes the game even more thrilling. Definitely worth a download. Lily’s Garden is available for both iOs and Android devices and is absolutely free. Good luck and have fun!
