As what the title of the game suggests, Hit The Light is a new arcade game on mobile in which your goal is to literally hit the neon light lamps. Generally, Hit The Light is a game that is merely inspired from the classic BreakOut game but presented with a unique twist. Instead of bricks, you will be prompted into a screen filled with colorful neon lamps. The main objective is to hit all the lights with your weapons until you clear them all. This goal sounds simple yet surprisingly tricky and if you think you are skillful enough to master the game, feel free to download Hit The Light and see how far you can go.
Hit the Light will take you to a series of challenging levels with varying range of difficulties. The mechanics are very simple and easily manageable. As soon as the game begins, it prompts you right away to the first level. The first 2 levels are super easy as it provides you with infinite weapons. However, the game will become more tricky as you progress. The challenge in this game is to clear all the neon lamps using the limited amount of ammo provided to you per level.
Much like BreakOut and other similar games, you start the level by aiming and shooting the Neon lights. Tap the weapon which is situated on the lowermost portion of the game screen by default. Adjust the angle and the force by moving the trajectory and release the hold to shoot. Unlike the typical Breakout game though, Hit The Light will not feature a paddle that allows you to catch the balls. Weapons are consumables but you can never retrieve them back once you used them so make sure to shoot them wisely.
Choose Your Weapons Wisely
It is very interesting to note that you have three general weapons in this game. Each weapon comes with their own advantages and disadvantages and you must learn to choose them wisely as there are only limited amount provided per level. The most common weapon in the game are the metal balls. They often come in huge numbers. Early levels will provide you 7 consumables. When launched, the metal ball splits into three balls which allows you to destroy more lights. Metal balls are capable of bouncing against walls and lights.
Shurikens, on the other hand, do not bounce but they can destroy anything that comes their way. Every level, you will be provided by 2 shurikens. Bombs are more powerful and can create massive carnage but you are only provided with one bomb per level. Interestingly, you can buy additional weapons by paying gems (the virtual currency). You can earn gems by reaching certain levels or by watching rewarded videos. If you run out of weapons, the game will ask you if you are willing to watch a rewarded video with extra weapons to earn in return. Otherwise, if you refuse or if you failed again, the game will come to a quick end and you have to start back from the very beginning.
If there is one thing that separates Hit The Light from any Breakout-inspire games, it would be the visually stunning graphics. Instead of typical bricks, the game features dynamically changing Neon lamps designs. There are colorful lights shaped like a deer, a guitar and many other images. This gives you an entirely new experience and it feels like you are not playing a classic Breakout at all. Not to mention that well-fitting sound effects of breaking glass which is absolutely satisfying.
Hit The Light is definitely something you must add on your game list. It works absolutely fantastic and it doesn’t consume much of your phone storage. You can also play the game even without Internet connection. Currently, Hit The Light is available for both iOS and Android devices and you can download the app for free. Have fun!
